The winning was definitely happening for lucky lottery players in the state of New York yesterday!

Big Powerball winner

The big winner of Winning Wednesday happened to be a lucky ticket holder from the June 19 Powerball drawing.

While they didn't match all six of the numbers drawn, the winning ticket in New York matched the five white balls drawn, which is worth $1 million. The winner also played the Power Play option, so it doubled the prize to $2 million.

The winning white ball numbers drawn for Wednesday evening's Powerball drawing were 4, 27, 44, 50, and 64, and the Powerball number was 7.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, located at 8000 Main Street in Buffalo.

While the New York Lottery is celebrating the $2 million win, there were no tickets sold that matched all six numbers in the June 19 Powerball drawing, according to Lottery officials. This pushes the estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing to $72 million, with the cash option being $34.7 million.

Three more lucky Powerball winners

As we said, it was a winning Wednesday for lottery players in New York and that winning continued with the Powerball drawing. Lottery officials announced there were three third-prize-winning tickets sold for the June 19 Powerball drawing.

To win this prize level, players have to match four of the five white balls drawn and the Powerball number drawn to win the $50,000 prize. All three winning tickets sold in New York didn't include the Power Play option, so each ticket won $50,000.

The winning tickets were sold at:

  • 79-07 Express News, located at 79-07 Main Street in Flushing;
  • BJ Gift Shop, located at 717 Lydig Ave. in the Bronx, and
  • Fine Fare Supermarket, located at 1221 Fteley Ave. in the Bronx.

For the Powerball drawings, the winning white ball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of numbers ranging from 1 to 26. The Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. ET.

Two more winning Wednesday wins

The New York Lottery announced two more big wins for lottery players on Wednesday. This time, coming from the Take 5 midday drawing, with two lucky tickets winning the top prize for that drawing.

The winning Take 5 numbers for the midday drawing on June 19 were 5, 11, 22, 23, and 30. The winning tickets matched all five numbers to win the top prize, which is based on ticket sales for this game. For each Take 5 draw, 50% of the sales are used as prize money as follows: 20% to the jackpot, 30% to the second prize, and 50% for the third prize.

The two winning tickets were sold at:

  • Moses Deli, located at 682 Allerton Avenue in the Bronx; and
  • Tops Markets, located at 2351 Maple Road in Buffalo.

Both prize-winning tickets are worth $9,135, Lottery officials said.

Enjoy playing the New York Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
