Since 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $270 million to organizations to assist more than 400,000 veterans throughout the Lone Star State. If you are looking for a thoughtful and significant way to support your veterans, why not play the annual $2 patriotic-themed Veterans Cash instant win game?

The game is now available from the Texas Lottery and will generate funds for the Texas Veterans Commission’s Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA). As well as donating proceeds to a worthy cause, Veterans Cash gives you an opportunity to win a jackpot prize of $30,000.

This latest edition of Veterans Cash was launched on October 16, 2023. The scratch-off game features over $7.8 million in total prizes, which includes five jackpots of $30,000.

In an interview with the Texas Lottery Commission, Texas Veterans Commission Executive Director Tom Palladino expressed his pride in the Texas Lottery for making the Veterans Cash ticket funds available.

“The grant funding awarded changes the lives of Texas veterans – to all those that buy the Veterans Cash ticket, you are contributing to keeping Texas the best state for veterans,” Palladino said.

The FVA’s continued support for Texas veterans

The Texas Lottery launched Veterans Cash on November 9, 2009. It was the first instant-win game dedicated to supporting Texas veterans. Since then, 69 scratch-off games have been launched, all with the proceeds supporting the FVA.

The FVA has been administered by the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) since 2007. The organization delegates grants to local government agencies, eligible charitable organizations, and Veterans Service Organizations so that they can provide more than 1.5 million veterans and their families with direct services. These services include financial assistance, employment, transportation services, housing assistance, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder counseling. During the 2002-2023 grant cycle, the TVC awarded more than $36 million in grants to 135 organizations throughout Texas.

How to play Veterans Cash

To play the $2 Veterans Cash instant win game simply scratch off the three eagles to reveal the winning numbers. Then scratch off the 10 dollar signs to reveal your numbers. If any of your numbers match the winning numbers you win the amount shown. The prize range for this game is $2, $4, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1,000, and $30,000.

The Texas Lottery Commission

The Texas Lottery launched its first draw game, Lotto Texas, in November 1992. The Lone Star lottery set a record, reaching sales of more than $1 billion within the first year. In 1993, Pick 3 was launched, and Cash 5 followed shortly after in 1995.

The Texas Lottery’s success story has continued with both lottery games and scratch tickets. Just one notable event occurred in 2002 when the Texas Lottery introduced the Harley-Davidson instant win ticket. The game made $12.5 million in sales in just one month. That’s more than any other single lottery game had done up to that time.

Today, as well as contributing to the welfare of Texas veterans, lottery proceeds are also transferred to the Foundation School Fund to support public education.
