If you bought a Lotto Texas ticket in Odessa for the March 9 drawing, it’s time to check your tickets! A jackpot-winning ticket worth an estimated $17.5 million was purchased in Odessa, and the winner has not claimed the prize yet.

The Lotto Texas drawing was held on March 9 and was purchased at Heifer’s N Convenience Store, located at 6301 N. Dixie Blvd., in Odessa. The winning numbers for the drawing were 17, 23, 26, 32, 38, and 45. The winning ticket matched all six of the numbers, which were player-chosen numbers.

At the time of purchase, the player chose the cash value option, and the lucky winner will receive $10.08 million. The prize hasn’t been claimed yet, and the winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim the prize.

Lotto Texas - how does it work?

For Lotto Texas, players pick six numbers from 1 to 54 or get a Quick Pick, where the computer picks numbers for you. You can select to purchase additional draws if you’d like.

Players can also choose to activate the Extra! Add-on for a higher chance of winning and increased non-jackpot prizes. How does the Extra! Add-on work? For an extra $1 per play, you add an extra prize ($2 for matching two numbers) and increase the value of other non-jackpot prizes.

Lotto Texas drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:12 pm CT. The jackpot starts at $5 million and increases until someone wins.

Winners all around

For the March 9 drawing of Lotto Texas, there were a lot more lucky players who purchased winning tickets besides the big jackpot winner. In addition to that $17.5 million winning ticket, there were 62,886 other Lotto Texas tickets, including those with the Extra! Add-on feature that won lower-tier prizes ranging from $2 to $12,189.

“It was an exciting Saturday night for a Lotto Texas player who purchased a ticket in Odessa and became the game’s first jackpot winner of 2024,” said Ryan Mindell, deputy executive director of the Texas Lottery. “We are looking forward to meeting and congratulating the winner of this prize. If you have the winning ticket, we encourage you to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place, seek financial and legal advice, and call the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment to claim the prize.”
