Danny Parks of Salisbury, North Carolina, couldn't believe his eyes when he revealed a $100,000 prize while he was playing a $10 Million Spectacular instant-win ticket. He was so surprised that he went back into the store and asked the cashier to scan the ticket to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

Danny bought the $50 scratch-off ticket from Han-Dee Hugo's, located at Jake Alexander Boulevard West in Salisbury.

In an interview with the North Carolina Lottery, he said, “I called my wife and told her to sit down because I had news for her.” At first, she didn’t believe him. “She thought I was messing with her,” Danny laughed. “She was excited though.”

He traveled to the North Carolina lottery headquarters Monday to claim his prize of $71,264 after taxes. Danny said he plans to use his winnings to pay off some bills.

The $10 Million Spectacular instant-win game was launched earlier in December. The game has five jackpot prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $100,000, as well as smaller prizes.
