It was a triple threat of luck in Pennsylvania's Pick 3 Day drawing, as the stars aligned for some lucky players. The winning combination? 3-3-3, with the Wild Ball also landing on 3, creating a perfect storm of threes. This rare combination paid off big for thousands of ticket holders across the state.

If you're wondering how such a simple set of numbers could bring so much excitement, you're not alone — over 10,000 winners shared in the $2.4 million prize pool. Stick with us as we break down the details of this incredible drawing that made March 3rd — another 3 — a lucky day for so many in Pennsylvania.

Three's company

It was all about the number three in yesterday's Pick 3 Day drawing in Pennsylvania. For the Day drawing on Monday, March 3, 2025, the winning combination was 3-3-3 and the Wild Ball was also 3, so threes all around.

As we have written before, lottery players enjoy playing these number sequences. With big wins in New York for winning combinations of 2-3-4 and 5-6-7-8, Pennsylvania needed to get in on that winning fun.

For this winning combination, lottery officials in Pennsylvania announced there were 10,640 winners. Those winners were paid out $2.4 million in prizes, so it was a very good day for Pick 3 players in the state.

A breakdown of the payouts

With $2.4 million in prizes, how does that payout break down for players? For a $0.50 Straight play, those ticket holders would be paid $250. Since the winning combination was 3-3-3, there were no Box winners.

With the Wild Ball, that number can replace any of the lottery-drawn winning numbers. However, the number on your ticket does not change. Since the Wild Ball was 3, it would just replace any of the 3's that were drawn and still come up with a winning combination of 3-3-3.

For those players that bet $0.50 Straight with $0.50 Wild Ball play, they would be paid $100. For those players with $0.50 Box with $0.50 Wild Ball play, they pay up to $36. All of the winning tickets will be totaled up, and lottery officials will pay out the $2.4 million.

Big scratch-off winner

The winning has been happening for Pennsylvania Lottery players. Another player recently bought a $3 million-winning scratch-off ticket in Jefferson County.

The winning ticket, The Hunt for $3,000,000, was purchased at Uni-Mart, located at 512 East Mahoning St. in Punxsutawney. For selling the winning ticket, the lottery retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus from the state lottery.

The Hunt for $3,000,000 is a $30 game that offers a top prize of $3 million. There were five top prizes available in the game and this was the first top prize claimed so far.

The lucky winner hasn't come forward yet to claim their prize, but scratch-off prizes expire one year from the game's end-sale date, which will be posted on the Pennsylvania Lottery website.

Enjoy playing the Pennsylvania Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
