After a 17-draw run, one lucky ticket sold in Pennsylvania has claimed the $213.8 million Powerball jackpot for the Monday, August 12 drawing.

The jackpot-winning ticket

The Powerball jackpot had climbed to $213.8 million, or $106.4 million cash, before Monday night's drawing. The winning white ball numbers for last night's drawing were 9, 22, 57, 67, and 68, and the Powerball number was 14.

The winning ticket was purchased at AJ's Pizza, located at 3565 Harts Run Road in Pittsburgh. For selling the winning ticket, AJ's Pizza will earn a $100,000 bonus from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko said:

The Pennsylvania Lottery congratulates the lucky winner and our retailer, AJ's Pizza, for selling this big Powerball jackpot-winning ticket. Thanks to our loyal players and our network of nearly 10,000 retailers across Pennsylvania, the PA Lottery is able to continue generating proceeds to pay for life-sustaining programs and services our senior population relies upon.

Big winners all around

With the win on Monday night, this was the sixth time the Powerball jackpot has been won this year. The last jackpot win came on July 3, 2024, and the jackpot has been growing ever since. The jackpot for that July 3 win was worth $139.3 million, and one lucky ticket in Ohio matched all six of the winning numbers.

For this latest jackpot run, lottery officials in Pennsylvania said they generated more than $16.6 million in sales, creating a profit of $6.6 million that will help benefit older Pennsylvanians.

Besides the big jackpot winner in the state, there were more than 22,000 other Powerball tickets from the state that won prizes in various amounts for Monday's drawing. Those winners include more than 4,400 tickets purchased with Power Play and more than 2,700 tickets purchased with Double Play.

Powerball jackpot winners in Pennsylvania

This is definitely not the first time lottery officials in Pennsylvania have announced a Powerball jackpot winner. Since the game debuted in the state in 1992, this is the 20th Powerball jackpot won by a Pennsylvania Lottery player.

The last Powerball jackpot winner that came from Pennsylvania was in August 2022 when a ticket sold in Westmoreland County won a $206.9 million jackpot.

Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and lottery officials validate the tickets. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim prizes.

After the big win last night, the Powerball jackpot has reset to an estimated annuity value of $20 million, or $10 million cash. The next drawing will be held on Wednesday, August 14.

Pennsylvania Lottery — one-of-a-kind

Did you know the Pennsylvania Lottery is the only state lottery that directs all of its proceeds to programs that help older residents?

While most state lotteries help fund educational programs, the Pennsylvania Lottery has contributed more than $35.1 billion to help fund property tax and rent rebates, care services, prescription assistance, transportation, and local services, including senior centers and meals.

Enjoy playing the Pennsylvania Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
