The Mega Millions jackpot is reaching stunning new heights, as it soared to $670 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in last night’s drawing. While the jackpot did roll over, it definitely wasn’t a quiet night for players.

One lucky player in Florida turned their $4 bet into a cool $5 million thanks to the Megaplier option. Meanwhile, three other players won the Match 5 prize of $1 million each. Anticipation is growing and growing and dreams of hitting it big are alive and well — just ask these Match 5 winners.

What were the winning numbers for last night?

We were back with another Mega Millions drawing last night. For Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the winning white ball numbers were 12, 14, 26, 48, and 52, and the Powerball number was 21. The Megaplier for last night’s drawing was 5X.

No tickets matched all six of the winning numbers, so the jackpot climbed to $670 million, with a cash option of $317.8 million.

Megaplier pays off in Florida

As announced earlier this year, the Mega Millions game is getting a mega makeover. Part of that makeover is increasing the price of the tickets to $5, but each ticket would include the Megaplier option. Right now, tickets cost $2 per play and an additional $2 to add on the Megaplier option.

That Megaplier option paid off for one lucky ticket in Florida, as they included it when buying their ticket and it increased their $1 million prize to $5 million. They happened to match all five of the white ball numbers to win the $5 million.

Meanwhile, two tickets in California and one ticket in Maryland also matched the five white ball numbers, but did not include the Megaplier to win the second-tier prize. The winner in Maryland will get $1 million and the two winners in California will each get $560,601, as prize amounts in California vary. They are calculated on a pari-mutuel basis.

The winning Maryland ticket was purchased at Wawa #553, located on 709 Belair Road in Bel Air. For the two winning California tickets, one was purchased at Hill Street Cafe, located on N. Hill Street in Los Angeles, and the other at 7-Eleven, located on W. 5th Street in Holtville.

Moving up the all-time highest jackpot board

Now Mega Millions players are focused on the next drawing, which will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024. Yes, it may be Friday the 13th, but everyone out there will be hoping for some good luck on a day normally known for being bad luck.

With no jackpot winner in last night’s drawing, the current jackpot run keeps climbing up the largest jackpots leaderboard. Here is a look at the Top 10 biggest Mega Millions jackpots ever:

  1. $1.6 billion – August 8, 2023 drawing with one winning ticket sold in Florida.
  2. $1.54 billion – October 23, 2018 drawing with one winning ticket sold in South Carolina.
  3. $1.35 billion – January 13, 2023 drawing with one winning ticket sold in Maine.
  4. $1.34 billion – July 29, 2022 drawing with one winning ticket sold in Illinois.
  5. $1.13 billion – March 26, 2024 drawing with one winning ticket sold in New Jersey.
  6. $1.05 billion – January 22, 2021 drawing with one winning ticket sold in Michigan.

  9. $656 million – March 30, 2012 drawing with three winning tickets sold in Illinois, Kansas, and Maryland.
  10. $648 million – December 17, 2013 drawing with two winning tickets sold in California and Georgia.
