The old saying, ‘Everything is bigger in Texas,’ never felt more apropos. With the Texas Lottery rolling out the details of the celestial grand prize at stake in their recently introduced $20 price $1,000,000 Cash Blast scratch-off ticket, one can only stand back and say, ‘Wow!’ that's literally out of this world.

Lottery liftoff

In 2024, four players lucky enough to have their tickets drawn as part of $1,000,000 Cash Blast's second chance drawing will be invited to join the rarified group of only 600 persons on the planet who have traveled to the outer edges of space.

At the national lottery conference held early December 2023 in the state's capital of Austin, the Director of the Texas Lottery announced that, in a partnership with Space Perspectives, they are destined to make history by awarding four winners a luxury expedition aboard the amenities-laden Spaceship Neptune.

Mission: Chance of a lifetime

With a mission to take as many people to space as possible, the Florida-based Space Perspective’s founding belief is that one’s perception of the world and one's unique place in it will be forever changed after looking down on Earth from 100,000 feet.

Travel to space in style

Not only transformative but also luxurious, the ‘hosts’ of the trip -Texas Lottery and Space Perspectives- plan to award four winners of the Texas $1,000,000 Cash Blast scratch-off second chance drawing with deluxe travel accommodations aboard the Spaceship Neptune.

Billed as an unforgettable six-hour flight, ‘hosts’ say guests can look forward to being entranced by the unparalleled views of space's magical mysteries while sipping on fine wines and nibbling on gourmet fare.

Texas Lottery Executive Gary Grief exclaimed:

The Texas Lottery is always looking for new and creative ways to reward Texans with memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. By partnering with Space Perspective, we're excited to provide winners and their guests the chance to take their place in space history with an unbelievable journey above the Earth.

Multi-dimensional exclusivity

Representatives from both organizations made the announcement during a conference-adjacent press conference. Praising the prize’s exclusivity, they emphasized how the state of Texas will be the first in the world to offer a lottery prize of this magnitude.

Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Lottery Ryan Mindell explained, “Texans crave the extraordinary, and prizes like this definitely add a unique dimension to the Texas Lottery playing experience.”

How to play

But before packing your bag for a Cash Blast space voyage, you will first need to overcome a few hurdles.

First, you will need to play a $20 Texas Lottery Cash Blast scratch-off ticket but not win. This is because only non-winning $1,000,000 Cash Blast tickets are eligible to be entered in the random second chance drawing with the possibility of nabbing one of four coveted seats aboard the Spaceship Neptune.

To review the game's full instructions and timetable, interested parties may visit the Texas Lottery's website at www.texaslottery.com.

For the purposes of this story, we have chosen to provide you with the following pared-down version:

First, players in the State of Texas (or those with a friend or relative who lives there) must purchase a $20, $1,000,000 Cash Blast scratch ticket.

Akin to similar scratch-off games, the $1,000,000 Cash Blast scratch offers top prizes upwards of $1 million that can be won in a variety of ways, including cash prizes ranging from $20 to $100,000.

The overall odds of winning any prize with the $1,000,000 Cash Blast are 1 in 3.41.

Going beyond the normal prize options, anyone not winning a cash prize will be eligible to enter into the Texas Lottery's Luck Zone.

En route to Florida

Through a series of drawings, 75 winners and their guests will be selected to travel to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for an all-expense paid four days/three nights stay leading up to a VIP space-themed party at the Courtyard by Marriott Titusville Kennedy Space Center.

At the end of the evening, four extremely lucky winners will be selected to partake in the space voyage portion of the prize package.

And that's not all they will give away; the Texas Lottery will also award selected winners with monetary amounts ranging from $100,000 all the way up to $1 million.

Endless space

In the words of a former NASA astronaut, “It's hard to fully understand how vivid and beautiful the Earth looks until you've seen it from the edge of space.”

On account of the breathtaking views and desire people have shown to pursue extreme travel adventures, space travel is undergoing phenomenal growth. This may then explain how Space Perspectives was able to reportedly sell out all their flights through 2027. This amounts to a total of more than 1,600 seats that have already been sold and a lengthy waitlist in process for upcoming flights.

With the chance to win a prize as in-demand and unprecedented as the Texas Lottery's Cash Blast space expedition, it kind of makes you want to move, or at least visit, the State of Texas for your chance to win and go where only a few have gone before.

Backstory: The Texas Lottery

Beginning with the first ticket sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated $38 billion in revenue for the state and distributed $83.8 billion in prizes to lottery players.
