Every lottery player knows that scratchers are fun to play, but it's the draw games that offer the biggest prizes.

And while no scratch-off game can deliver a Mega Millions or Powerball-sized jackpot, a few do offer jumbo-sized eight-figure payouts, as long as you're willing to pay the triple-digit price to play them.

You might be intimidated by the high cost of premium games, but you can't win big prizes if you don't take some big chances. These are the most expensive scratcher tickets you can buy.

Lonestar Lottery

Everything's bigger in Texas, and that includes the scratch-off ticket prices. For just $100, you can buy yourself a nice steak dinner or take a shot at winning a massive jackpot by playing $20 Million Supreme.

Supreme is the most expensive game that the Texas Lottery offers, but with an $829 million prize pool, it offers plenty of chances to win.

To play the game, players must match one of their twenty-seven numbers to any of the game's five winning numbers. There are no multipliers to find, but uncovering a DIAMOND symbol means that you win $150 instantly.

The game also features a bonus game with three playable squares. Players who reveal two matching prize amounts in one square win that amount instantly.

A Harlingen, Texas, resident was the first person to win one of the top prizes. The player, who chose to remain anonymous, said they were shaking with excitement when they realized the size of their prize.

“Initially, I thought it was [a] $20,000 [prize winning ticket],” the player told the Texas Lottery.

I was on the phone with my dad when I realized it was $20 million. That was my fifth of five [$20 Million Supreme] tickets that I purchased. I scanned the barcode first, so I knew it was a winner, but I thought it would be a small prize. When I got to my truck, I realized how much I won.

While three of the top prizes have already been claimed, one more $20 million winner is still waiting to be discovered, as long as you're not scared off by the high price to find it.

Texas is the state for you if you like to spend big on your scratch-off tickets. The state also offers Loteria Supreme, a game with a $7.5 million jackpot for those willing to pay the $100 price.

Loteria features three different play areas, and it's a bit more complex to play than Supreme. Players have 27 symbols that they must match in the grid at the top of the card. By creating a complete line of four symbols either vertically or horizontally across the grid, they win the corresponding prize.

There is also a bonus game with fifteen playable bonus squares to uncover. Players must uncover matching prize numbers in each square to win that amount.

In the final play area, players have a chance to win a multiplier that will affect every prize won on every area of the ticket. There are 10X, 20X, 50X, 100X, and 500X multiplier squares, and to win one, players must uncover matching symbols in the same square.

So far, only one of the four top prizes has been claimed. The first grand prize winner chose to remain anonymous and has released no statement after claiming their prize. All that's known about them is that they are from Nederland, and they purchased their ticket at the Fast Break 2 in Nederland.

Half price

While Texas is the only state that offers $100 games, several other state lotteries sell $50 tickets, which come with hefty jackpots, although the value of those jackpots varies wildly from game to game.

The Florida Lottery might offer the most bang for your buck with its 500X The Cash game. For just $50, players have the chance to collect a $25 million top prize from a total prize pool of $1.66 billion.

To win, players have to match their 35 numbers to the game's ten winning numbers. The game features multipliers that can push the value of the ticket up to 500 times, and finding a MONEY BAG symbol means that the player wins double the amount of every prize on the ticket.

North Carolina offers a $50 ticket called $10 Million Spectacular that comes with a $10 million jackpot for some lucky winners. Spectacular is a basic number match game that offers 35 player numbers to be matched to twenty winning numbers to win a prize.

Pennsylvania offers two $50 scratchers, Monopoly Own It All and Five Million Fabulous Fortune.

However, your $50 won't go as far as it will in other states since these tickets max out with $5 million rewards.
