Lottery loyalty has led to good luck for a lucky player from Missouri. He can't believe he's won a $1.3 million Lotto prize after playing for so long.

The anonymous long-time player from Blue Springs purchased his winning ticket for the April 17 drawing from the QuikTrip located at 705 Highway 40 in Blue Springs.

In an interview with the Missouri Lottery, the player said:

I've been playing it since it came out. But I've never won this much.

The player was watching the late-night news on April 17 when he decided to check the winning Lotto numbers for that night's drawing. When he saw that the winning numbers matched his own numbers, he couldn't believe it. He had matched all six numbers - 1, 11, 24, 30, 31 and 41.

He said:

I called my son, who was downstairs, and he looked at it, and he said, “No, that can't be right.”

The player said he was hoping to match maybe four or five numbers but to match all six. “It's fantastic!”

He plans to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage and have some fun by buying a little sports car.

How to play Missouri Lotto

Lotto is a Missouri Lottery game that costs $1 for two plays. You can also add the EZ Match option for an extra $1 per two plays. When you opt for EZ Match, six additional numbers will be printed on your ticket beneath your Lotto numbers. If any of your EZ Match numbers match the preselected numbers, you will win the prize amount shown next to the EZ Match number.

Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at around 8:59 p.m. The jackpot starts at $1 million and rolls over until there is a winner. To play, select six numbers between 1 and 44 or opt for a Quick Pick, and the computer terminal will randomly generate your numbers.
