Even if you are a regular lottery player, you just never know when good luck will strike. When a lucky Illinois mom got up in the middle of the night to see to her crying baby, she did not expect that she’d also find out that she had won a $1.4 million Lucky Day Lotto jackpot.

In an interview with the Illinois Lottery, the mother said,

“My baby woke up crying, and after tucking them back into bed, I had trouble falling back asleep. So, to pass the time, I opened the lottery app on my phone, and I couldn’t believe it when it showed that I had just won $1.4 million!”

The winner, now nicknamed “Lucky Mom,” matched all five numbers in the March 6 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing. The winning numbers were 6, 8, 16, 17, and 20.

Lucky Mom said that she has occasionally played Lucky Day Lotto before, and when she does, she usually uses her children’s birthdays as her numbers. She added, “I have the best job in the world: I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I already feel very lucky and blessed for where I’m at in life – but today, the word ‘lucky’ took on a whole new meaning.”
