It took six drawings, but the New Jersey Lottery happily announced another jackpot winner for the Jersey Cash 5 draw game.

Jersey Cash 5 jackpot win

One lucky ticket matched all five numbers drawn for the Thursday, March 28, drawing of Jersey Cash 5. The winning numbers were 5, 12, 14, 26, and 38, and the XTRA number was 3.

The jackpot-winning ticket was worth $714,431. After the win, the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot was reset to $100,000 for the Friday, March 29, drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Good Luck Food Mart, located at 123 South White Horse Pike in Berlin. For selling the winning ticket, the lottery retailer will get a $2,000 bonus check.

In a statement, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey said:

Congratulations to our newest Jersey Cash 5 winner! We hope this incredible prize brings joy and happiness to the winner.

New Jersey Lottery — how to claim a prize

While the New Jersey Lottery announced the big Jersey Cash 5 win, the actual holder of the winning ticket has not yet come forward to claim their prize. A winning ticket must be claimed within one year of the valid drawing date for which it was purchased.

If you are holding a winning ticket for the New Jersey Lottery, then you have a few options to choose from for claiming your prize. While many prizes can be claimed at any lottery retailer, those players who are lucky enough to be holding a big winning ticket, should be aware of the options to claim prizes.

Prizes under $599.99

Any winning ticket under $599.99 can be redeemed for cash instantly at any lottery retailer throughout the state. All you need to do is present the winning ticket to the retailer and receive your prize.

Prizes over $599.99

If you happen to win a prize over $599.99 in the New Jersey Lottery, then you have some steps to take to claim your prize. In order to receive your prize, you will need to file a claim to receive a check for your prize.

Players can get a claim form from any lottery retailer or download one online and print it. Also, if you have a ticket that is damaged, questionable, or otherwise unable to be claimed at a retailer, then you may also submit it using one of these claim forms. All claims take about 4-6 weeks to process, and the claims are processed in the order they are received.

Once you have the claim form filled out, there are a few options you can choose from moving forward:

  • You can mail in your winning ticket to the lottery office in Lawrence, which over 90% of players opt to do. Players would need to mail the completed claim form and the signed winning ticket to: New Jersey Lottery, Attn: Validations, P.O. Box 041, Trenton, NJ 08625-0041.
  • You can also drop off your claim form and winning ticket in person. To do this, you can visit their office (8:30-4:30, M-F ET), and a secure drop box is available to place your claim. You can also pick up a claim form at the office to fill out, which is located at: Lawrence Park Complex, 1333 Brunswick Avenue Circle, Trenton, NJ 08648.
  • Finally, if a player has won a jackpot (like the player above) or other large prizes (about $25,000 or more), or they just feel more comfortable filling out their claim form in person with a Lottery representative, they can make an appointment by calling the Lottery office at 1-800-222-0996.

Enjoy playing the New Jersey Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
